2. Blogging Community:

The blogging community is a group of bloggers that engage with each other posts and blogs. It helps you network with other bloggers, engage, and drive a good amount of traffic to your blog.

Blogging community is very beneficial, especially for beginner bloggers as new bloggers are very new to the blogging world and they might need other people’s networking and engaging to uplift their blog and help gain traffic to their blog.

After joining a blogging community, you can share your post and you can engage with other’s posts. This helps you get more comments on your blog and improve your engagement in the blog post.

It also helps you meet bloggers from around the world and help you establish a good relation with bloggers. This will allow the chances of guest blogging to your site and it may even help to build backlinks.

There are many ways you can join a blogging community. There are hundreds of blogging communities available but the best one has premium plans. It means you have to pay to join these communities.

Since we are here talking about ‘Free’ ways to promote your blog, these premium blogging community might not be placed in this article. But, The best & ‘Free’ alternative to these premium communities are ‘Facebook Group Community’

At this time, Facebook has over 2.8 Billion reaches. So, it is a no-brainer that you should promote your blog on Facebook.

You can find different Facebook groups by simply typing ‘Blogging’ and then searching it in the ‘Groups’ section. This will give access to all the blogging groups where you can join and promote your blog.

Then, you can find the group that suits your requirements and then join the group. Some groups require you to read and follow the rules of their group community. After accepting all the rules, you can request to join the group and the group admin shall approve your request.

As simple as that, that too for absolutely ‘FREE’

But, remember that this is a two-way process. In order to gain traffic from these groups, you need to engage with the other group member as well. You have to interact, visit, and comment on other people’s blogs if you want that in return.

Also, you need to be active in the group. You need to post regularly. But, be careful about being too spammy. No one likes too much self-promo.

For me, the Facebook group community has been driving me a lot of traffic to my blog. More than 60% of my referral traffic comes from the Facebook group where I share my blog post. I am engaged in more than 10 Facebook groups and It has done me all good.

3. Pinterest

Do you think Pinterest is only for getting recipes and interior inspiration?

Well, Think again πŸ˜‰

Pinterest is one of the fastest-growing social media. There are more than 416 million active Pinterest users and has gained over 70 million users just in the past 12 months. Most of the Pinterest users are females (about 71% of total users) while men account for only 7% of total pins on Pinterest.

The fact that I didn’t list Pinterest under the social media category is that it is not only social media but also a Search engine.

Yes! You heard that right.

Pinterest is a search engine as well. It is a visual-based social media with pins resulting in the search of the keywords. It has its own pins that rank for its own keywords.

It has guided search features which makes it a combination of a search engine and a powerful advertising social tool.

Pinterest can gain a large number of visitors to your blog. It is regarded as one of the best platforms where you can promote your blog. It is used by many digital marketers as their primary source of referral traffic.

Pinterest is all about creating a pin-worthy image and pinning them to a relevant board to reach to more people. Then, as people will start finding your images in search results for the different keywords, you can start getting traffic to your site.

Pinterest has a set of its own popular keywords that the pins rank for. These keywords are important to target if you want more impressions and clicks on your pins. Also, you should optimize your pin titles and pin description so that your pins can rank for their popular keywords.

For me, Pinterest has been working kinda well. I was active in the first month and I gained almost 30 new visitors to my site in the first month of using Pinterest. I know the number is very low. But I was getting it with minimum efforts. I know I can work more on it.

I am planning to focus more on this month (September-2020) I will share all the tactics, all the tips & tricks, and my results after taking Pinterest seriously for this month.

4. Blog commenting:

Blog commenting means commenting on other blogger’s blogs. It is one of the easiest ways to build links back to your site and attract traffic to your blog. It is also a popular way to promote a blog.

Blog commenting is also a great way to exchange ideas, thoughts about what people think about a particular blog post while building strong relationships with people in your industry.

You can share your knowledge about a particular topic using blog commenting and establish a good relationship between author and reader.

When you are commenting on other’s blogs with your site linking to it, you are creating a backlink for your website and we all know how backlinks are important for SEO. It is also helping you to drive traffic to your site.

Blog commenting also helps you network with other bloggers in your niche and also helps you build a better relationship with them. This will help in creating a quality backlink to your site as people easily trust you and then provide a quality backlink to your site.

But make sure to add an engaging and descriptive comment to other’s blog posts.

‘Great work’. Does this comment sounds engaging?

This sounds like a spammy comment which is made just to share a link, nothing else.

Make a rather engaging comment, with a piece of relatable information about the blog you are commenting on. Just say how much you liked their work and add value to your comment by adding a link to your site. Also, make sure to ask a question so that they reply to the comments and there’s more engagement between you and the writer.

5. Quora:

If you are a blogger, you should use Q&A Sites to promote your blog. It is one of the best content marketing strategies which allow you to build authority to your site and also help create backlinks.

One of such Q&A sites is Quora. Quora was founded by 2 ex-employees of Facebook back in 2009 and now, as of 2020, the Alexa ranking system ranks it in the top-150 sites in the world. Today, It has more than 100 million unique visitors.

Quora is basically a site for answering queries that people are searching for. You should type in the question related to your niche or something you want to write about, then answer it with linking back to your site.

But make sure not to post only a blog article link as an answer to a question. You should add some value to the comment and engage with the question and then link back to your site. Just linking back to your site seems spammy and no one would click it.

Also, you should gather the interest of the potential readers in your answer. Add some funny quotes (make sure it is relatable with the question) and gather the interest of your readers. This way they are more engaged with you and will probably click your link for more information or value from you.

Other such Q&A sites apart from Reddit, Yahoo answers, etc. These are alternatives you can use in the place of Quora.

I would personally suggest everyone use Quora as It has more direct and sophisticated answers, and also people on this platform are much more information-centric and they will more likely click your link for more information you provide.

I do have a Quora account but I am not much active on it. I try to answer some really interesting questions and questions only related to my niche. So, my engagement with Quora is very little.

6. Guest Posting:

Guest Posts are another wonderful way to promote and blog and get high-quality backlinks to your site. It helps to build authority in your niche or industry through blogging.

A guest post is an article written and posted on someone else’s blog. Here the ‘guest’ is a writer who writes blog articles for other’s blogs.

Guest post is considered a valuable tool as your brand is exposed through your writing to a set of entirely new readers. These new readers may like the value or information you are providing, which may convert them into your subscriber, and potentially your costumers. This will help you build an entirely new set of readers to your blog and the reach of your blog increases.

Guest posting allows you to position yourself as an authority and a well-known name in your niche. It helps you attract exposure back to your site. It also helps you build backlinks to your website which is extremely important for the SEO and ranking of your site.

Guest posts are mostly free of cost but some of them are paid. That means you have to pay to write for someone and get a quality backlink from their sites. These sites are usually with higher DA & PA.

But, How do you find the sites which allow you to guest blog?

Simple, just type in

‘Your niche keyword’ + Guest post

‘Your niche keyword’ + Guest blogging

Then, you will be able to find many sites in your niche providing you to write a guest post to their site.

I have tried doing a guest post once, and I have already backed a quality backlink to my site. You can check out my guest post here!!

For me, I really didn’t enjoy guest blogging. I was backing some quality links but as a new writer, I was struggling to write on a new topic and gather information about it.

So, If you are the one who struggles in writing new and fresh content, I don’t recommend guest blogging for you. It can be really hard to come up with fresh content every time, especially if the site you are writing for has some strict requirements.

So, These are the 6 ‘Free’ ways to promote your blog for massive traffic to your site.

‘Don’t try to stand in two boats simultaneously’

I don’t recommend you try everything to promote your blog at once. I want you to first focus on only 2 (max 3) things at once you think you are good at.

Likewise, I want you to focus only on 1 or 2 social media at first. I personally would suggest you get started with Facebook and Twitter/Pinterest. These are the social media that have been driving me the highest traffic to my site and I believe these will work for you as well.

If you have any other ways that you use to promote your blog, I would definitely love to read it. Do comment on your ideas below.

If you think that some of your other ‘bloggers’ friends should read this, then do share it with them as well.
